PDF-Direct lets you print PDF files directly on HP-LaserJet printers,
without having to go through a printer driver.
PDF (Portable Document Format), the platform-independent standard for
data transmission, is widely recognized as the best way to share documents
without losing the original layout (fonts, formatting, colors and images).
The compactness of PDF files also makes them interesting for sharing
lots of data without overloading the network. But all of these advantages
vanish when it comes to printing, when the printer driver turns the
compact PDF into a big PostScript print job, before sending it through
the network to the printer. PDF-Direct solves this problem, by enabling
the printer to print native PDF files, a function that is particularly
useful anywhere data transfer is an important issue, such as for companies
with remote branches - the reduced load on the network means huge savings
